Party Like a Giant

After their dramatic win against the Cardinals, the World Series-bound San Francisco Giants reportedly partied down and celebrated at The Tipsy Pig. A member of the Tipsy crew shared this quote from one of the team members (but they wouldn’t tell me whom): “It’s tradition we come here after we win the NLCS…and hope the tradition of what happens next continues!”
Hungry Giants

There were a bunch of sightings of our boys in black and orange last week. A reader wrote in: “Last night after Game 1, San Francisco Giants Marco Scutaro, Gregor Blanco, Hector Sanchez, and Jose Mijares had a late dinner at La Mar. Plus ex-Giant and fellow Venezuelan Omar Vizquel joined them!” After a little follow-up with the restaurant, I learned the following: “They had cebiches, causas, empanadas, lomo saltado, a few different arroces. They have all come in before and really enjoy our food. Pablo Sandoval was in the prior weekend.” Since it was close to 10pm, only a few guests recognized them, but those that did were excited.
Meanwhile, Pablo “The Panda” Sandoval convinced Limon on Valencia to open up for a late dinner after hitting three homers last Wednesday night. Mission Mission has the deets. Chef-owner Martin Castillo reportedly said: “You have to open up after he homers three times. He’s a great customer. We always go the extra mile for him.”
And according to Grub Street, the wild-eyed outfielder Hunter Pence “was spotted chowing down on some beef Saturday night at House of Prime Rib.”
There Might Be Giants

After the San Francisco Giants clinched their win over the Padres for the NL West title on Sunday night, the team descended on The Tipsy Pig for a night of revelry until 2am. The team reportedly comes in a fair amount, but last night the whole team was there, with guests in the tavern buying them Champagne and cocktails.
