Metal Rock Bachelor Party Takes Over Starlight Room
March 3, 2015
Bay Area resident and Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich celebrated his bachelor party in style on Saturday night (he is marrying model Jessica Miller). According to People, the groom began his evening at Lucky Strike lanes in SoMa, and then made his way to The Starlight Room for vodka tonics and Stella Artois. Who was he partying with? Oh, no one special, just Bradley Cooper, Michael Fassbender, Peter Coyote, and the rest of Metallica. People is even reporting that Ian McKellan was with them at Lucky Strike. We like to imagine that the merry band of tricksters re-created The Hangover and someone got stuck on the roof (Sir Ian took the part of Mike Tyson, obviously), but it’s sounds like they were better behaved than that. Oh well.

According to this tweet from Michael Murphy, A16 was busy with rock star diners last night: U2’s drummer Larry Mullen Jr. and The Edge, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, plus Lars Ulrich and Lou Reed were all dining together in the restaurant. A tablehopper tipster who was boozin’ on the town also spotted the group at Rye later in the evening.

Hottie actor Clive Owen—presumably in town for the filming of Hemingway & Gellhorn with Nicole Kidman—was spotted with Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich in Harry Denton’s Starlight Room (not together) last Wednesday, but then two nights later, they were spotted together having drinks in the lounge at Twenty Five Lusk. New drinking buddies?

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich and his actress girlfriend Connie Nielsen ate at Tiburon Grill at The Lodge at Tiburon—they were with friends and some kids. A few young’uns in the restaurant came up to Lars to have him sign autographs, but were too shy to ask, so Connie told Lars about it and he turned around and chatted with them and signed some autographs.
