Jacques Pépin is going to have quite the full dance card over the next three months: his 75th birthday isn’t until December 18th, but the festivities have already started. Chef Roland Passot of La Folie threw him a party at Left Bank Brasserie in Menlo Park last week, and Pépin has an upcoming 75th birthday reception and fundraiser at Waterbar on October 14th (6pm-8pm). The fundraiser is for his next series on KQED-TV, Essential Pépin (currently shooting for an October 11th release). (You can get tickets here.)
He was also spotted dining at Quince with a party of six, his first visit to the restaurant in its new location. He reportedly stayed for three-plus hours, got a tour of the kitchen, cellar, and the upcoming Cotogna with chef Michael Tusk.
