Chicago star chef Grant Achatz was in town for the holidays, and made quite a few stops. A tipster let us know he had a late-night dinner at Range followed by drinks at Third Rail, and according to his Twitter feed, he had the Feast of the Seven Fishes at A16 on Christmas Eve, Christmas at Yank Sing, and a meal at State Bird Provisions he deemed “worth the hype.”
Achatz Got a Mouthful (and Earful) at Benu

A tablehopper reader probably wanted to eat his words, so to speak, when learning from a sommelier at Benu that unbeknownst to him, Grant Achatz had been dining right by his group’s table. The amusing thing is the reader said, “He [Achatz] obviously heard all we were talking about at one point in the meal about Alinea (not all great…).” D’oh!
