Man, I am bummed to be missing this dinner. I admire Cecilia Chiang very much, and she’s totally feisty. Oh, my Monday nightsx Anyway, here’s more from the release, “On January 26th, chef Laurent Manrique and executive chef Ron Boyd welcome Cecilia Chiang to preside over the preparation and service of ~AQUA’S PREMIERE CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION DINNER~.
Â
“Cecilia has been a celebrated restaurateur since 1961 when she opened the Mandarin, which quickly became a culinary landmark and San Francisco institution. In 1974, with publication of her cookbook The Mandarin Way, her career blossomed to include television appearances, cooking demonstrations, and contributions to international magazines and newspapers. She actively consults for popular Bay Area restaurants, including Betelnut and Shanghai 1930.
“Only 100 seats are available for this rare opportunity to meet the woman dubbed the ‘Chinese Julia Child’ by Alice Waters. Experience the foundation cuisine of Asia as inspired by the magnificent Cecilia Chiang—and launch the New Year again at AQUA!”
