Oakland’s fifth annual EAT REAL FESTIVAL returns to Jack London Square September Friday 27th to Sunday September 29th. The festival, from the Food Craft Institute, is free to attend and features street food from local purveyors, all for $5 or less. Look for offerings from the likes of Tanya Holland (Brown Sugar Kitchen), Russell Moore (Camino), and Kyle Itani (Hopscotch). There will be plenty of beer and wine to pair with the food, of course, and demonstrations and activities for adults and kids, including a Flying Knives butchery contest on Sunday September 29th and a Kids’ Kitchen for the little ones. You can catch the festival Friday September 27th 1pm-9pm, Saturday September 28th 10:30am-9pm, and Sunday September 29th 10:30am-5pm. Webster St. between Broadway and 1st St., Oakland.
