The Sonoma Valley is getting ready to celebrate olive season with the Sonoma Valley Olive Festival. The Feast of the Olive Dinner is the highlight of the festival, on Saturday January 31st from 6pm until 10pm. Nineteen of Sonoma County and the Bay Area’s best chefs will come together to create a meal highlighting olives and olive oil. Each table at the dinner will be served by a team of chefs, all paired to create a different five-course tasting menu for each different table. Participants include Ari Weiswasser (Glen Ellen Star), Jeffrey Lloyd (Cafe La Haye), and Lisa Lavagetto and Doug MacFarland (Ramekins).
Of course, this being Sonoma, there will be local wines paired with each course, and the focus will be on local products, especially olives and olive oil. The dinner will take place in the Vineyard Room at Ramekins, which will be warm and candlelit for a nice winter evening feast, and you’ll certainly be entertained, with masters of ceremonies Gary Saperstein from Out in the Vineyard, Liam Mayclem from KCBS-FM’s Foodie Chap and CBS’ Eye on the Bay, and Joel Riddell from KKSF-AM’s Dining Around. Tickets are $175 per person and include all food and wine as well as tax and gratuity. 450 W. Spain St. at 4th St., Sonoma, 707-996-1090 ext.108.
