Take some preventive measures and polish up the pearly whites before hitting up the fifth annual SUGAR RUSH dessert tasting event benefiting Spark, the apprenticeship program for at-risk middle school students. Happening Thursday November 10th, Sugar Rush is going to be bigger and better than ever with a new venue—the Empire Ballroom in the Sir Francis Drake Hotel—and with more chefs, wines, and live and silent auctions.
As always, generous Bay Area restaurants and chefs will be providing sweet bites for your delight, including Chez Panisse, Boulevard, Range, Delfina, Millennium, Scala’s Bistro, Humphry Slocombe, Farallon, Recchiuti Confections, and Mama’s Bakery. You’ll get to taste wines from local vineyards too, like Barber Cellars, B.R. Cohn Winery, and Starlite Vineyards. Have fun with the photobooth donated by the Magnolia Photobooth Co., and bid on fab auction items like getaway packages, high-end art and jewelry, wine tours, and tickets to sports and entertainment events.
Nab your tix online: $75 general admission, $125 VIP ($85 and $135 at the door, respectively). Spark is a national nonprofit connecting volunteer professionals with middle school students from disadvantaged communities in workplace apprenticeships to “spark” their potential.
