I’ve been wondering who was behind the upcoming project in the closed BAGDAD CAFÉ location in the Castro. It ends up it’s chef Randy Lewis, who is going to be opening an “innovative, casual comfort food neighborhood restaurant.” (Remember that he used to be the chef at MECCA down Market Street.) He was too busy to call me back before my deadline, but considering he’s hiring staff right now, I’d say it’s close. Stand by for more. 2295 Market St. at 16th St.
