I was driving in SoMa on Sunday, tsk-tsking over the closed doors of the EndUp on a Sunday afternoon. (Seriously? What the hell is going on over there? Sunday afternoons used to be an epic scene at that club. Makes me sad.) Then I noticed a huge “restaurant for lease” sign over MOCHICA. A quick hop to their website and Facebook page reveals the restaurant is closed, and this update: “Because of you, we are able to expand our operation, which is currently under construction at a new location in San Francisco. Please check back for updates on our Grand Re-Opening!!” I didn’t hear back from owner Carlos Altamirano in time, but stand by for more. 937 Harrison St. at 6th St., 415-278-0480
