Folks were speculating about where Sylvan Mishima Brackett (Peko Peko) was going to be opening his upcoming izakaya in SF after the announcement last week, and it ends up it’s going into the former Chez Spencer location that tragically burnt down last May. Brackett says it’s going to be called RINTARO (he said it means “woods boy”—and considering Brackett’s first name is Sylvan, it makes sense!).
They just broke ground, but you will be able to attend weekly Peko Peko dinners in Oakland until the opening later this summer. The next dinner is on Saturday February 15th, with a Valentine’s Day theme (five courses, $50, reservations around 6:15pm-ish and 8:15pm-ish). Email for reservations and directions.
