A couple of little Mediterranean items of note: now open in Russian Hill is TROY, an extension of the East Bay’s Troy Greek, which I mentioned was opening their first SF location and moving into the former Polker’s. Meanwhile, there’s another ice cream place that has opened in the Castro, CASTRO ICE CREAM, serving Mitchell’s ice cream, but they’re also serving Turkish breakfast (with simit), all kinds of borek, Turkish coffee and tea (perfect to perk you up before a movie at the Castro Theatre), Turkish delight, and housemade baklava.
