Last year, tablehopper mentioned that the folks behind The Trappist were opening a bottle shop called TRAPPIST PROVISIONS in Rockridge. Berkeleyside mentioned it’s now open, with 9 taps (there’s a beer bar and some tables) and 99 bottles. Open daily 10am-12am. 6309 College Ave. at 63rd St., Oakland.
Liquor license activity reveals Jon Guhl, who was an original partner in deep-dish favorite Little Star Pizza, is opening THE STAR on Grand Avenue in Oakland. Scoop explains Guhl split from business partner Brian Sadigursky (who still owns the original Divisadero location), while Guhl now owns the Mission location and the one in Albany. Grub Street notes it’s where the now-closed Milano Ristorante was located. 3425 Grand Ave. at Mandana, Oakland.
