Novato restaurant HILLTOP 1892 has a new chef, Todd Davies, who previously worked at Lark Creek Inn and Corks at Russian River Vineyards. He has made some changes to the menu, including more share plates and his riff on Bradley Ogden’s famous butterscotch pudding for dessert. The dinner menu focuses on seasonal American comfort food, with classics like meatloaf, chicken roasted under a brick, and a beer-braised pot roast. At lunch, look for sandwiches like pulled pork or an oyster po’boy, along with a selection of seasonal salads and share plates. The weekend brunch options include three different Benedicts, a short rib hash, and burgers. Hours are Mon-Thu 11:30am-9pm, Fri-Sat 11:30am-10pm, Sun 10am-9pm. 850 Lamont Ave. at Clausing, Novato, 415-893-1892.
