We are very sad to report that Shigemi Komiyama, who owned Halu in the Inner Richmond with his wife and daughters, has passed away. He passed in January after a long illness, the Scoop reports. Komiyama was also the drummer for local surf-rock band The Shitones, and Halu was decorated with lots of rock-and-roll memorabilia. He was known as a kind, very fun man, and our thoughts are with his friends and family.
