New Year’s Eve is coming in hot on Thursday December 31st, and if you’re not headed out to a party, it’s time to think about where to have dinner. OpenTable is, as ever, a great resource for reservations since everyone in town is doing something. Here are some of our picks that stood out to us for various reasons.

Newly opened SPAGHETTI BROS. has a special five-course New Year’s Eve menu, complete with luxurious details like oysters and caviar, choices for each course including lobster and foie gras, and live jazz after 8:30pm. There are reservations available from 5:30pm-8pm for $85 per person, or $125 per person from 8:30pm until closing. Beverages, tax, and tip are not included. 3213 Scott St. at Lombard, 415-400-8500.

Speaking of live jazz, there will also be a quartet at ~HEIRLOOM CAFÉ~ beginning at 9pm, along with a four-course menu and lots of their fabulous wines. Dinner is $85 per person, not including tax, gratuity, or beverages.

For a dinner conveniently followed by a party in the same building, BURRITT ROOM is serving a four-course dinner, which can be followed by a masquerade ball. Dinner is $75 per person, the party is $50, or get a ticket for both for $115. 417 Stockton St. at Sutter, 415-400-0561.

For a stylish night out in a fun part of town, ~CALIFORNIOS~ might be just the spot for you. They are offering a special tasting menu for $175 per person, along with an option of two pairings: a traditional, global pairing for $90 per person, or a special one featuring wines only from the Champagne region for $175 (oui!). Festive holiday attire is requested, so wear your good duds! Reservations can be made by email.

PRUBECHU is going for a casual, island vibe with a whole pig roast, served family style with lots of side dishes and plenty of beer from Goose Island. Tickets are $90 and include all-you-can-eat food, beer, and live music, and you can stay all night long until the toast of midnight. Doors open at 6:30pm; dinner is at 7pm. 2847 Mission St. at 25th St., 415-952-3654.

If you’d like to tip your hat to the end of an era, New Year’s Eve is also the last day of service at ALFRED’S STEAKHOUSE, which was purchased by Daniel Patterson earlier this year. For their final farewell to both 2015 and San Francisco, Alfred’s will be hosting a special prix-fixe menu with options including steak, lobster, their classic Caesar salad, and lots of side dishes. 659 Merchant St. at Clay, 415-781-7058.

If prix-fixe just isn’t your thing, PIPERADE is offering their regular menu all day long, plus in the evening, guests will receive a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and party favors. Plus the restaurant will be decked out in festive style.1015 Battery St. at Green, 415-391-2555.

BOBO’S LOUNGE is also eschewing the prix-fixe style in favor of their regular menu. Viva la steak! All evening guests will receive party favors and a complimentary Aperol spritz, and they will be open until midnight, so you can toast to the new year. 1434 Lombard St. at Van Ness, 415-683-7007.

However you decide to celebrate the new year, please be safe out there. Next week we’ll be rounding up some of our best picks for your New Year’s Day, whether you’re looking for more festivities or, um, recovery. Here’s to a healthy, happy, and prosperous new year!
